Reb Moshe was truly terrific at my son Andrew and his partner Michelle's wedding. He met with them a number of times either over the phone or in person to discuss the importance of their upcoming union, explained all the intricacies of a marriage between two faiths, and the importance of Jewish traditions and our values of love, respect, communication and family. You may not know it and I may not have shared it before but you are the first rabbi who made me feel comfortable getting closer to Judaism. You made it fun. You made it philosophical. My husband and I (and our families) could not have asked for a more caring, thoughtful Rabbi to marry us. Rabbi Heyn is learned and spiritual but not pushy, an exceptional listener, and an all-around mensch. He was exceptionally accommodating with our pre-wedding meetings, which he was happy to conduct via video conference. We did not want to be married in a Temple, as we have an affinity for the outdoors and consider the natural world to be a chapel in and of itself. Rabbi Heyn did not hesitate when we told him we wanted to get married in a park, and even likened to setting to a Sukkah during our ceremony. There are so many officiants listed on the internet that selecting one may feel overwhelming. Rest assured, there is absolutely no way you can go wrong by choosing Rabbi Heyn. Rabbi Heyn - Simply The Best! Rabbi Heyn guided us in creating an extremely personal and special ceremony for us. As an interfaith couple we know thats not always easy to achieve. As a wandering American Jew, I encountered many rabbinical styles from the oratorical to the pedantic. I was struck by your slow but steady path of bringing your own style to the Saturday minyan and Torah study. You evoked a sense of belief and faith and, notwithstanding that you were the shepherd during services, there were your private moments of spirituality which, for me and my ambiguity as to prayer, provided a sense that all was part of belonging.
My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better Rabbi to marry us. Rabbi Moshe was amazing from the first call we had during the interview process. He invited us to his home to get to know us more and stayed on top of everything even after the wedding. He was able to help answer any religious questions as well as help with what to include in the program. After the ceremony, guests came up to us to tell us how amazing they thought the service was and how great Rabbi Moshe did. Rabbi Heyn was a wonderful co-officiant for our interfaith wedding. I know Rabbi Heyn both personally and professionally. I know him from Temple Israel where my father, Rabbi Joseph Narot, served as the rabbi for 30 years. My personal experience with Rabbi Heyn has been very positive and healing. He has helped me through significant rites of passage and, most particularly, enabled me and the entire congregation to heal from the wounds my father's death left, over 30 years ago, by delivering a very compassionate sermon on the topic and making himself available for discussion.
I also know from professional experience that Rabbi Heyn actively participates in initiatives to make our world a better place in which to live. He is an excellent educator and communicator and an asset to our Jewish community.

Rabbi Moshe Tom Heyn is very funny, professional, and easy to work with! He performed our wedding in early July and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
